Chocolate Bunnies Sign

For my friends I wanted to make a cute little board they could put on their shelf for Easter.

Let me show you how easy this is to make!
Supplies needed:
Wood board
Paint (I used white)
Brown ink
Vinyl (I used brown)
Mod Podge
Cut your wood board to the size you like and paint white.
Using a brown ink pad ink up the edges a bit.
Cut out a cute Easter saying on vinyl.  I thought this was such a cute saying because I just love Chocolate bunnies at Easter time!

Put your vinyl on your board.

I add a layer of Mod Podge over the top to make sure the vinyl doesn’t peel up.  It usually does not – but I like to make sure.

Let dry and put on your shelf – so cute!

Lucky as Can Be St. Patricks Sign

In trying to keep with my Lucky theme for my St. Patrick’s Day decor I made this little Lucky board to sit on my shelf.  This one is so super simple and quick!

Lucky wood board

First start with a board and paint it white.  Then pick a really cute piece of cardstock and cut it to the size you want.  Then using Mod Podge adhere it to your board.  Here is my board with my cute paper

Wait for the Mod Podge to dry then add a cute vinyl word.  My vinyl says “Lucky as can be!!”

Add some Mod Podge over the top to seal everything together and let dry.  I think this turned out so cute and took no time at all!

Snowflake Candles

Before I pull out the Valentine decorations I decided to decorate a little bit for winter.  As part of my winter shelf display I made these cute Snowflake Candles.  The best part was how inexpensive and easy it was to put together!

I bought these candles from the Dollar Tree – so I spent only $3

Then I cut out about 20 snowflakes from white vinyl.  This snowflake design had a small snowflake in the center so I was able to use both pieces.
Place the vinyl snowflakes on the candles.
I like how they look on my winter mantle.
Check out my blog Summer Scraps to see the other items on my winter mantle – I think it turned out cute!

Joy Blocks with the Cub Scouts

I work with the Cub Scouts in my area and last week we decided to make a present the Cubs could give their mothers.  I wanted something cute that the mothers would love to use, yet something easy for the boys to put together.  We decided to make these cute Joy Blocks (sorry for the picture quality – the lighting was not great)

I pre-painted the blocks black.  Last year we let the boys paint and while they did do a good job it took forever to dry.

I cut a vinyl J and Y out of the metallic red vinyl and covered it with transfer tape.

After a demonstration from me the boys applied the vinyl letters to their blocks.

The boys then tied a red ribbon on the bell.  After that was done they wrapped the Joy block set in celophane wrap and curly ribbon. They were very excited to give them to their moms!

Grateful Chalkboard Vinyl Sign Tutorial

On my Thanksgiving Mantle this year I have this little board that says Grateful

Here it is on my mantle

There is chalkboard vinyl on the board so I can change out whatever we are Grateful for.  right now it is showing that I am Grateful for my family.  My kids have been enjoyed changing out the message with how they are grateful and it has got them thinking about being grateful – which is nice!

This is super simple to make. Here are the supplies you will need:

Orange Vinyl

Chalkboard Vinyl

Wood board

Orange Spray paint

Brown Ribbon and chalk (not pictured)

First spray paint your vinyl, cut out a piece of chalkboard vinyl and lettering in your orange vinyl

Place your Chalkboard vinyl on your wood. Rub over the entire area with a piece of chalk – then wipe it off.  I heard that this preps the area to erase easily in the future (I really don’t know if it is necessary)

Add your orange vinyl word and a brown ribbon bow to the end.

Now have your family take turns writing what they are thankful for.  I hid the piece of chalk behind the board on the mantle so the word can be changed out whenever we want.

What are you Grateful for??

Gooble Til You Wobble

I love to decorate my mantle for the different seasons and one of my favorite ways is with words blocks.  I always have a different word on my mantle for each season.  This year I made up Some “Gobble Til Ya Wobble” words blocks.  I think they are fun and match my other fall items perfectly.

The blocks are made from wood, covered with fall paper and for the lettering I used brown vinyl.  I then embellished with raffia and brown ribbon.

Here is a close up of these cute blocks

How do you decorate for fall?
